Summer Sequins | Label Lab Sequin Cover Up

31 May 2014

Sequins are something that I normally associate with Christmas, the festive period and fancy evenings out in the colder months. I have never really considered wearing sequins during the summer, never mind during the day as a more casual look.

I was kindly send this Label Lab Sequin Trim Cover Up by House of Fraser which is a gorgeous navy sheer cover up with small gold sequins and once the weather hots up in the UK again, its bound to become a staple in my wardrobe.

Read on to find out how with the right piece of clothing sequins can be suitable for any occasion and any time of the year. What's great about the Label Lab Sequin Trim Cover Up is that it is so versatile and the sequins are very subtle and not too 'in yer face'. Here are 3 summer looks incorporating the cover up to take you from the beach to a night out.

The Beach Look

Label Lab Sequin Trim Cover Up | Frayed Hem Shorts: Zara (similar here) | Black Bikini: H&M (last year) - similar frill bikini bottoms available here | Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan (Waterproof) in light Matte.

Throw on a simple pair of denim shorts over your bikini, a simple pair of flip flops and add the Sequin Cover Up into the mix for a bit of added glitz and glamour. Fake your tan with the Rimmel Sunshimmer, this is great for adding instant colour and it now comes in a water resistant version perfect for hot summer days.

The Casual Daytime Look

To move your outfit from the pool to a more casual daytime look perfect for a stroll around the shops, add in a simple white vest top or tshirt, some cute nude sandals and you're good to go. Still not sure on getting your legs out? Try the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan + BB Perfector as it adds a bit of colour and a glow all whilst moisturising, blurring away imperfections and evening out skintone.

The Summer Evening Look

For the evening look its all about the accessories. Add in a pair of heels, a chunky gold necklace and the outfit is instantly transformed into a cool, 'casual - but not too casual' summer evening look. I have been absolutely loving the necklaces from Primark at the moment, so definitely head into a store to check these out.You can find my post on my latest Primark jewellery splurge here.

So there you have it, one Sequin Cover up, 3 different Summer outfits perfect for different occasions. Now all we need is the sun. I better book a holiday pronto as I'm not holding my breath for a hot summer here in the UK...
